The Jazz Bash kicks off the holiday season
KINGSVILLE (November 12, 2008) — The award winning jazz program from Texas A&M University-Kingsville will perform the Jazz Bash at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, in Jones Auditorium. The jazz groups schedule to perform include Jazz Bands I, II and III; The Jazz Bones; and Jazz Combo. The concert is free and open to the public.
Dr. Paul Hageman, Regents Professor and chair of the music department, directs Jazz Band I while Jazz Bands II & III are directed by James Warth, associate professor of music. Dr. Oscar Diaz, assistant professor of music, directs The Jazz Bones and the Jazz Combo is a student-organized group.
The bands will feature musical pieces including: Sing, Sang Sung; Gumbo Street, Manteca; Erbil Street Samba; Watermelon Man; Bonehead; A Time for Love; Message From Art; What is Hip?; Secret Love; When I Fall in Love; J.B.; and Vamos Y Bailar.
