Babe Ventura: Texas A&M-Kingsville Bodacious Babe Detective centers
on ‘nefarious plans to create perfect woman’

Lots of laughs are guaranteed with the original Texas A&M University-Kingsville theatre production Babe Ventura: Texas A&M University-Kingsville Bodacious Babe Detective.

This broad comedic production centers on mad scientist Dr. Evil and his nefarious plot to make a perfect woman out of “the most appealing features” of eight other women taken from the A&M-Kingsville campus. When these eight women start disappearing, private detective extraordinaire Babe Ventura takes the case to track them down and bring Dr. Evil to justice.

Performances take place at Jones Auditorium, located at 855 N. Armstrong on the campus of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Show times are Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26-27 at midnight; Halloween, Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m.; and Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m.

The production serves as the annual fundraiser for the theatre department. Admission is $5.

Babe Ventura is written by Dr. Patrick Faherty, associate professor of communications and theatre arts. Rick Joe Saenz, a sophomore from Falfurrias majoring in theatre arts and radio and television, directs this production. Christina Garcia, a Zapata junior majoring in theatre arts and art, serves as stage manager.

The cast of Babe Ventura: Texas A&M University-Kingsville Bodacious Babe Detective is:

Megan Saenz plays the part of Babe Ventura. Saenz is an Alice freshman majoring in theatre arts.

Melissa Anne Scott plays Ms. Texas A&M-Kingsville Administrator. Scott is a Flour Bluff alumna.

O’Ryan White plays Dr. Evil. White is a Kingsville alumnus.

Igor is played by Heraclio Gonzalez Jr., a Kingsville junior majoring in both radio and television and theatre arts.

Freddie is played by Joey Olivarez, a Taft sophomore majoring in both vocal performance and theatre arts.

Jason is played by James Taylor Maupin IV, a Falfurrias junior majoring in theatre arts.

Babette Hot is played by Betsy Wallek, a Ben Bolt sophomore majoring in communications. Kristine Trejo, an Alice freshman majoring in both psychology and theatre arts, plays Babette Sexy.

Bodacious Agriculture is played by Cassandra Clarke, a Three Rivers sophomore majoring in both theatre and Spanish. Bodacious Arts and Science is played by Stephanie Wright, a Kingsville junior majoring in theatre arts. Bodacious Business is played by Lindsay Marie Ramos, a Falfurrias senior majoring in both interdisciplinary studies and theatre arts.

Bodacious Education is played by Kristie Ann Vela, a Falfurrias sophomore majoring in both communications and journalism. Bodacious Engineering is played by Leah Luna, a Del Rio sophomore majoring in communications. Bodacious College One is played by Lyn Sanchez, a Kingsville senior majoring in theatre arts.

Candy Stripper is played by Ruben Rodriguez, an Alice junior majoring in theatre education.

Audience plants are played by William Martwick, a Beeville sophomore majoring in music education, and Jeanpierre Heurtelou, a sophomore in biology from San Diego, Calif.
