Texas A&M-Kingsville To Host Emerson Drive In Outdoor Concert
KINGSVILLE - March 23, 2007
KINGSVILLE (March 23, 2007) — The Campus Activities Board at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will host a concert by country group Emerson Drive at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in the parking lot of Nolan Ryan Field. Opening for Emerson Drive will be comedian Jeff Allen. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
The concert is free for A&M-Kingsville students with a valid identification card, $5 for faculty and staff and $7 for the general public. Tickets are currently available at the first floor information desk and the third floor student activities office, both in the Memorial Student Union Building. Tickets also may be purchased online at www.getquickticks.com.
Emerson Drive came from Canada in 2001 and their most recent album, Countrified, on Midas Records, was released in August 2006. The band has come a long way from their first self-titled release in 2002. That album led to numerous awards for the group including Top New Vocal Group/Duo from the Academy of Country Music; Billboard’s #1 Top Country Artist of the Year; R&R’s #1 New Artist MVP; Group of the Year for two years in a row, from the Canadian Country Music Association and two top five hits, Fall Into Me and I Should Be Sleeping. Most recently, Emerson Drive was honored with spots in the Canadian Country Music Association’s All Star Band. In June 2004, they released their second album on DreamWorks, What If.
