One of the highlights of Asian Pacific Heritage Awareness events is the Moon Festival, happening Friday, April 7, at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Student Union Building Courtyard.

The public is invited to attend this free event, featuring a wide selection of sights, sounds and activities showcasing various elements of Asian culture.

Events will include a martial arts demonstration, dragon dancers, Chinese calligraphy, and Mehndi/Henna tattoos. Free features for children will include a moon jump, clowns and face painting. A full Asian dinner for $2 will be available as well.

The festival also features an Asian Costume Parade at 8 p.m. The top four contestants will receive gift certificates to Asian restaurants. Those participating in the Costume Parade must sign up at the appropriate booth by 7 p.m. that day.
