Wednesday, April 6, through Wednesday, May 25 SECOND TIME AROUND: THE HUBCAP AS ART
will be on display at the John E. Conner Museum. This traveling exhibit features 35 unique selections made from discarded hubcaps. Admission is free. The museum is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and closed Sunday and university holidays. The museum closes to the public at 4 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month. Admission to the museum is free. For more information, call 361-593-2810.

Tuesday, March 29 UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIP SERIES PRESENTS DR. JANE GOODALL-“GOMBE AND BEYOND” The conservationist, ethologist, UN Messenger of Peace and founder of the Jane Goodall Institute will deliver a free presentation in Jones Auditorium, open to the public. A question and answer period and book signing will follow the presentation. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and seating is on a first-come, first seated basis. For more information, call 361-593-2760.

Friday and Saturday, April 1-2 49TH ANNUAL JAZZ FESTIVAL featuring renowned trumpeter Dan Miller will be held in Jones Auditorium. Friday features the Middle School Jazz Band Competition at 4 and a 7 p.m. performance from A&M-Kingsville’s Jazz Band III and the university’s Latin Jazz Ensemble; all Friday activities are free and open to the public. Saturday features High School Jazz Band Competition at 8 a.m., a one hour jazz clinic at noon with Miller at the Bellamah Music Building Recital Hall, and a 7 p.m. performance from Jazz Band II and Jazz Band I with Miller; Saturday activities are open to the public and free, except for the 7 p.m. performance, which will be $7 per person.
