Eight new QEP courses join two existing for spring semester

Eight new courses have been approved for inclusion in the course schedule at Texas A&M University-Kingsville that are part of the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). These will join two already under way that aim to enhance learning by increasing student engagement in research, civic service and professional activities. Three McNair scholars selected to present at national conference

Three students from the McNair Scholars Program at Texas A&M University-Kingsville were selected to present their research at the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) conference held Oct. 26-29 in Tampa, Fla. The SACNAS national conference is a unique blend of science, culture and community, bringing together the nation’s finest researchers, students, leaders and educators. Read more»

Newly formed Kingsville Symphony Orchestra featuring A&M-Kingsville students performs first concert Dec. 3

Group founded by A&M-Kingsville music faculty members

The inaugural performance of the Kingsville Symphony Orchestra (KSO), conducted by Dr. Mark Rogers and featuring students and faculty from Texas A&M University-Kingsville with local musicians, happens Sunday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Kingsville as part of the Yuletide Festival Concert with the Kingsville Community Chorus. Maddala named Mr. TAMUK, Escobedo earns first Mr. Philanthropic

Gupta Maddala, a graduate student from Chennai, India, studying computer science was named Mr. TAMUK 2006 during the competition held Saturday, Nov. 11, at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Maddala received a $1,000 scholarship. He also was named Mr. Photogenic in the contest, which was themed this year as “Hollywood Hunks.” Read more»
