Snake carving by noted South Texas artist
on loan to Natural Toxins Research Center
A distinctive, realistic piece by artist Jose Luis Rivera-Barrera is on display at Texas A&M University-Kingsville’s Natural Toxins Research Center (NTRC). Not typically a place to showcase art, the NTRC provides global research, training and resources in a mission to discover medically important toxins found in snake venoms. Artist Kirk Clark shows Taos Dreams at Ben Bailey Art Gallery Sept. 11 - Oct. 6
Artist Kirk Clark created his first oil painting in 1956, titled “The Lone Cypress.” Over the past 50 years since then, he has expressed his artistic vision in drawings, totemic sculptures, monoprints and jewelry to much acclaim. Some of his extensive body of work goes on display at the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Ben Bailey Art Gallery Sept. 11-Oct. 6, as part of the show Taos Dreams. Read more»

Conner Museum hosts memorial ceremony for September 11 fifth anniversary
KINGSVILLE (September 1, 2006) — The John E. Conner Museum at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will honor those who lost their lives because of the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001 as well as our military personnel who have given their lives and been injured defending our country with a memorial ceremony at 6 p.m. Sept. 11. Held on the grounds of the museum at 905 W. Santa Gertrudis, the theme of the observance is Lest We Forget: 9/11 A Ceremony of Honor. Read more»
