Acuff advances to Olympics' final
Amy Acuff of Calallen will be the only American in the finals of the women's high jump in the Summer Olympics. She cleared the qualifying height of 1.95 meters (approximately 6-foot-4) on her second try to advance to Saturday's final round. Acuff, who is in her third Olympics, won the IAAF Super Grand Prix earlier this month. She finished 17th in the 2000 Summer Olympics and 20th in 1996. She is the daughter of Jacqueline Acuff, a lecturer in the language and literature department.

Texas A&M University-Kingsville and San Antonio College officials recently announced an articulation agreement to address the country’s engineering education crisis by smoothing the transfer process for students.
