Texas A&M University-Kingsville officials will incorporate the high school recommended curriculum into the university’s admission requirements beginning in Fall 2005. The Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System approved the recommended curriculum requirement in March. Fair TEXAS A&M SYSTEM REGENTS Board chairman Lowry Mays stated that the plan is for the chancellor’s position to be filled as soon as practical. Currently, A. Benton Cocanougher is serving as interim chancellor of the system. The Texas A&M University System is one of the largest and most complex systems of higher education in the nation. Through a statewide network of 10 university campuses, 7 state agencies and a comprehensive health science center, the A&M System educates nearly 100,000 students, conducts more than $500 million in research and reaches another 11 million people through service each year. 2004 Last year, our Relay raised a gross of $90,500. We ranked 2nd. IN THE STATE in county population of 30,000-35,000. We ranked 35th IN THE NATION. Not bad at all !!! Relay is an all night camp-out filled with friends, fun, games, music,
tears and laughter. There will be contests for the Most Laps Walked, Best Campsite, Most Spirited Team, Most Money Raised and more. Come cheer cancer survivors as they take the first ceremonial lap, or come pray with us as we honor friends and family who lost their fight against cancer or those who are fighting this dreadful disease during our luminaria ceremony. This year we have a total of 42 teams who have registered. There will be well over 100 cancer survivors and close to 900 relayers. We are asking you to join us in the fight against cancer. Administrative offices are reminded that they should remain open during the lunch hour as required by System Policy 33.06. When applying for vacation, compensatory or sick time Monday through Thursday, the leave request form should indicate 9 hours for the entire day or the exact number of hours missed. For Friday, the leave request form would indicate 4 hours for the entire day or the exact number of hours missed. The state legislature authorizes a certain number of 8-hour holidays each year. Because Memorial Day, May 31, 2004, is a Monday, it will be necessary to work until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 4, to complete the 40-hour workweek. This exhibit features 20 full-color panels with nearly 200 artworks highlighted. The introductory panel features a photograph of the university’s Leaders of the Pack sculpture.
