New Summer Hours
The university will implement a 4½-day summer workweek beginning Monday, May 10, and continuing through Friday, August 13. Working hours will be Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday only. Saturday and evening classes will meet as scheduled.

With the exception of the University Police Department and certain maintenance and custodial crews, all offices should plan to work this schedule. Administrative offices are reminded that they should remain open during the lunch hour as required by System Policy 33.06.

When applying for vacation, compensatory or sick time Monday through Thursday, the leave request form should indicate 9 hours for the entire day or the exact number of hours missed. For Friday, the leave request form would indicate 4 hours for the entire day or the exact number of hours missed.

The state legislature authorizes a certain number of 8-hour holidays each year. Because Memorial Day, May 31, 2004, is a Monday, it will be necessary to work until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 4, to complete the 40-hour workweek.

If you have any questions regarding the summer hours, please call 593-3704.
