Library Workshops
The staff of the Jernigan Library has set the schedule for its computer workshops for the spring semester. These workshops are open to all faculty, staff and students. All of the courses are held in room 123 on the first floor of the library. To reserve space in any of the workshops, call 593-3319.
Introduction to Agriculture and Life Sciences Databases will be taught from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 23. Students will examine agriculture and science databases available at the Jernigan Library.
A course entitled Introduction to SciFinder Scholar will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25. Students will learn online searching for chemistry and applications in engineering and life sciences.
Two courses in Introduction to Internet Searching will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25, and again from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 30. Those attending will learn basic Internet searching strategies using search engines and subject directories.
A course in Introduction to Federal Government Resources will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 31. Students receive an introduction to search strategies for finding government information, both electronic and print.
Two courses in Basic HTML will be held from 6 to7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, and again from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 1. Students will learn basic HTML coding.

Outdoor sculpture featured in latest museum exhibit

The newest exhibit at the John E. Conner Museum at Texas A&M University-Kingsville has a touch of local flair. Preserving Memory: America’s Monumental Legacy, is a touring exhibit that tells the stories behind America’s outdoor sculptures. Wherever the exhibit goes, the entry panel features a public sculpture from the host area. Read more»

Saxophonist highlights 37th Annual A&M-Kingsville Jazz Festival
A performance by Bob Mintzer, saxophonist, composer and member of the award-winning jazz group the Yellowjackets, will highlight the 37th annual Texas A&M University-Kingsville Jazz Festival Friday and Saturday, March 26-27. Mintzer will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday with the A&M-Kingsville Jazz Band I in the evening concert in Jones Auditorium. Admission to that concert is $7. read more»

The Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Tony Gonzalez have established the Jim Scarborough Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Scholarship for Kleberg County public high school students entering Texas A&M University-Kingsville to pursue studies in law enforcement or a related field. read more»

Continuing through Tuesday, May 11 MUSEUM EXHIBIT entitled Preserving Memory: America’s Monumental Legacy, a touring exhibit telling the stories behind America’s outdoor sculpture. This exhibit features 20 full-color panels with nearly 200 artworks highlighted. The introductory panel features a photograph of the university’s Leaders of the Pack sculpture.
