5K RUN SLATED FOR MARCH 8 AT A&M-KINGSVILLE

(KINGSVILLE, February 14, 1997) -- The Texas A&M University-KingsvilleDepartment of Military Science and Leadership Kingsville will jointly host the First AnnualKingsville Navy League 5K Run on Saturday, March 8, at A&M-Kingsville.

The run will begin at 8 a.m. at Javelina Stadium located on Corral Avenue and ArmstrongStreet in Kingsville. Proceeds from entry fees will go towards scholarships for qualified area highschool students.

Medals will be presented to the first three male and female finishers in each of thefollowing divisions: Male: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54,55 to 59 and 60 plus; Female: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to54, 55 plus; overall; and masters. The course will wind through A&M-Kingsville campus andfinish at Javelina Stadium.

Free T-shirts will be available for the first 100 participants. The entry fee is $10 for earlyregistration up to March 1 and $15 for registration up to race time. Checks for entry fees may bemade out to Kingsville Navy League and mailed to ROTC, Campus Box 204, Kingsville 78363or faxed to (512) 593-3202. Participants may also register in person at the event.
