FALL REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED

(KINGSVILLE, August 26, 1996) - As a service to students unable to sign up for classes because of the threat of inclement weather, fall registration at Texas A&M University-Kingsville has been extended through Tuesday, Aug. 27, Registrar Joe Estrada announced today. Registration was to have concluded on Friday, Aug. 23.

"We will continue to register folks through the first two days of next week," Estrada said, "and will accommodate students who have been unable to get here because of the inclement weather and poor driving conditions.

"We don't want anyone taking chances on the roads to get here," he explained. "We will be happy to wait on them."

The first day of classes is Monday, Aug. 26.

The decision was made by President Manuel L. Ibáñez, who said "we want to ensure that we have registered all of the students who are planning to enroll in the university this fall."
