An online program offered by the College of Education and Human Performance at Texas A&M University-Kingsville has been named one of the top programs by BestColleges.com.

The online master’s degree in early childhood education was ranked number 17 in the nation by the college ranking organization. The only other early childhood program on the list from Texas is the master’s program at Stephen F. Austin State University that was ranked 12th.

Texas A&M-Kingsville’s program is designed for teachers who wish to improve their professional resumes, enhance their career skills and more effectively promote appropriate development in their young students. Coursework focuses on the most celebrated early childhood curriculum models including Montessori, Waldorf and Reggio Emilia.

Core requirements comprise 18 credit hours of study. A six-credit hour research project or elective coursework plus 12 credits in resource study complete the degree program.

The early childhood program was selected from programs at over 1,200 public and not-for-profit universities offering online courses.
