Kingsville Lions Club's Donation to Fund New Scholarship at A&M-Kingsville

Representatives from the Kingsville Noon Lions Club present Texas A&M University-Kingsville President Dr. Steven Tallant with a check for $1,000 Wednesday, April 18.
The donation, which will be matched by the university, will fund two $1,000 per semester scholarships to one Kleberg County high school graduate and one second semester A&M-Kingsville freshman.

The Kingsville Noon Lions Club was chartered in 1929. The primary focus of Lions Club International is vision and eye health. Locally, the Kingsville organization provides free eye examinations and glasses for needy children, vision screenings, diabetes awareness education, recycles used eyeglasses, donates dictionaries to every third grade student in Kleberg County, conducts the Annual Halloween Carnival, supports the Texas Lions Camp for Disabled Children and members volunteer hundreds of hours in support of community events.
