SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL PROGRAM
Children from 1st grade to 12th grade are encouraged to participate in children’s choir
KINGSVILLE (August 23, 2011) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville and the Kingsville community are inviting students grade 1-12 from across South Texas to be a part of a children’s choir that will perform during a September 11 10-Year Anniversary Concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, September 11 in Jones Auditorium.
Students will arrive for practice at 6 p.m. the day of the concert, in the Bellamah Music Building on the A&M-Kingsville campus. Students will learn one song during the practice time. Students will also learn about concert etiquette and play a musical game during the rehearsal. This will be the only practice in preparation of the concert performance. Students are asked to wear attire suitable for school pictures.
The children’s choir will perform early in the concert. After the performance the students will file off the stage and will sit with their parents in the audience. Parents will be required to attend the concert but will have the option of staying with their child for rehearsal or filling out an emergency contact form and dropping off their child for rehearsal.
Parents can register their children for the children’s choir by sending an RSVP to Dr. Melinda Brou, A&M-Kingsville assistant professor of voice and opera. Please send your child’s name, grade level, contact phone number and email address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For more information, contact Brou at 361-593-2824.
