Thirty high school and middle school students from around the Coastal Bend participated in the Young Engineers of South Texas (YESTexas) summer camp at Texas A&M University-Kingsville July 11-15. Students spent the week learning a variety of engineering concepts from the faculty, staff and graduate students of the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering at A&M-Kingsville.
The goal of the camp is to provide students with the opportunity to develop math, science and engineering concepts by participating in hands-on engineering projects and technical activities. During the week-long camp students participated in several projects focusing on groundwater quality, computer technology, robotics and bridge building.
