Harlingen sophomore selected Miss Texas A&M-Kingsville for 2011

Nicole Villarreal, a sophomore speech communications major from Harlingen is $2,000 closer to achieving her degree after winning the 2011 Miss Texas A&M-Kingsville pageant and the top scholarship that goes with it.
Other winners included Kirby Cernosek, a junior psychology major from Kingsville who received $1,500 as first runner up; Courtney Trevino, a junior criminology major from Harlingen received $1,000 as second runner up; Lisa Gomez, a junior pre-physical therapy/exercise science major from Kingsville received $500 as third runner up; and Robin Martinez, a senior kinesiology from Pharr received $250 as fourth runner up.
Martinez also was named Miss Congeniality and Gomez also was named Miss Lantana. Trevino and Moriah Sanders, a junior agriculture science major from Poteet tied for Miss Photogenic.
