Cooks, Lopez named Homecoming King, Queen at Texas A&M-Kingsville

It was royalty abound at Texas A&M University-Kingsville when the 2010 Homecoming King and Queen were named at halftime of the Javelina football game Saturday, Oct. 16.
Daniella Lopez, a senior biomedical sciences major from Edinburg, was named Homecoming Queen. She is sponsored by the American Medical Student Association.
Dondi Cooks II, a senior communications major from Dallas, was named Homecoming King. He was sponsored by the International Student Organization.
Other finalists for queen included the following:
First runner up – Leanne Guerra, a senior human development and family studies major from Pharr and sponsored by the Campus Activities Board;
Second runner up – Courtney Trevino, a junior criminology major from Harlingen and sponsored by Alpha Sigma Alpha;
Finalist – Rhonida Carter, a senior accounting major from Houston and sponsored by the Residence Hall Association; and
Finalist – Myranda Montalvo, a sophomore family and consumer science education major from McAllen and sponsored by the Child Development Club.
Other finalists for king included the following:
First runner up – Tony Gutierrez, a senior architectural engineering major from Pharr and sponsored by Kappa Kappa Psi;
Second runner up – Joe W. Alvarez, a junior civil engineering major from Alice and sponsored by the Campus Activities Board;
Finalist – Louie Longoria, a senior accounting major from Falfurrias and sponsored by the Catholic Student Organization; and
Finalist – Chris Torres, a sophomore history major from San Benito and sponsored by the Child Development Club. -TAMUK-
