Texas A&M University-Kingsville will be working to help keep Kingsville beautiful Monday, Jan. 25, through Friday, Jan. 29 during the Clean Up Kingsville event.
The university is partnering with the City of Kingsville, the Kingsville Chamber of Commerce, Keep Kingsville Beautiful and Lowe’s to pick up brush, debris and discarded appliances from various points around town.
Volunteers from Javelina Athletics—administrators to coaches to players-- are helping to lead the university’s volunteer effort. Volunteers will meet at the Clean-Up Command Central at the corner of 5th Street and King Street. Volunteers will be dispatched in shifts from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. They will be sent out to four designated clean-up zones, where they will collect trash and debris and load it onto trucks.
The event is the first week-long effort aimed at cleaning up the city.
Volunteers from A&M-Kingsville are encouraged to wear their Javelina gear and bring any equipment they may need to assist in the clean-up.
To sign up to volunteer or for more information, call Miguel Paredes at 593-2500.
