Silent auction items, full meal, live music strong draws for President's Legacy Ball March 18

KINGSVILLE (March 10, 2006) — Tickets are going quickly for the 2006 President’s Legacy Ball at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

It’s an evening of food, drink, live music, a silent auction and plaques to be awarded to dedicated university supporters.

Cocktails will begin at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7:30 p.m. and musical entertainment scheduled for 8 p.m.

The evening will feature a social hour with canapés, champagne service and an open bar. Sodexho Marriott Food Services will provide a full meal, with salad, entrée and dessert. Later in the evening, a coffee bar will be available, along with brandy and liqueurs.

A silent auction will be going on during the course of the evening. Some of the items available to bid on include original artwork and photos, jewelry, a nilgai hunt and a fanciful hand-painted Santa.

Grady Gaines and the Texas Upsetters will serve as the night’s musical entertainment. These experienced performers from Houston offer a host of musical styles, including the standards, soul and R&B, country and more.

Other activities to take place include a silent auction and the unveiling of new plaques to the Legacy Wall of Honor. The wall is a tribute to all individuals, families, corporations and foundations that have made cumulative donations of more than $100,000 to the university.
