McAllen native is crowned Miss Texas A&M-Kingsville

KINGSVILLE (April 25, 2006) — Lisa Marie Garcia, a junior business administration and marketing major from McAllen, was named 2006 Miss Texas A&M University-Kingsville during the pageant held Sunday, April 23. She will reign for a full year and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. In addition to receiving the queen’s title, Garcia also was named Miss Lantana.
Veronica Leigh Silva, a junior kinesiology major, biology minor from Lyford, was named first runner-up. She received a $700 scholarship.
Esther Ganta, a graduate student in electrical engineering and computer science from Hyderabad, India, was named second runner-up for which she received a $500 scholarship.
The third runner-up was Analyn Nunez, a sophomore architectural engineering major from Brownsville. She received a $250 scholarship.
Rebecca Renae Arevalo, a sophomore fashion and interiors major, business minor from Sugar Land, was named fourth-runner up. She received a $100 scholarship.
Miss Photogenic was Stephanie Brache, a freshman education major from Bishop. Krystal Michele Seidel, a senior communications radio/television major from Kingsville, was named Miss Congeniality.
