TAMUK FLUTE DAY

Saturday, January 22

Welcome to the TAMUK Flute Studio webpage!  Our flute students have many opportunities to perform in large ensembles such as Marching Band and Wind Symphony and they also participate in flute choir, small ensembles, weekly scale class, and private lessons.  We established the TAMUK Flute Society in 2003 so that we could bring in guest artists and go to the Texas Flute Festival in Denton every spring.  Our first year, we brought in Terri Sundberg, flute professor from the University of North Texas, to give a recital and masterclass, and we traveled to Fort Worth to see James Galway give a recital!  We are an active studio and always looking for new players to join us.  Take some time to look at the site—there’s a lot of information about us and all aspects of the flute.  If playing your flute is the most important part of your day and you are thinking about a career in music, this is the right place for you!
