Join JNET

Welcome to the Javelina Nation!

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Javelina Nation! You can join JNET in three easy-to-follow steps. If you have any questions at any time, please review the step-by-step guide provided below. iTech would like to meet your technology needs before you get to campus and once you are here! As such, we will be providing important information for you to join JNET to access services available to you.

What you will need: As we mentioned in your email from the Office of Admission, you will need your Student ID, birth date, and the last four digits of your Social Security Number to join JNET. You will be receiving a TAMUK username and creating your unique password.

What is my Student ID? It is the K number assigned to you when you applied to the university. It can be found in your email from the Office of Admission and by logging into your Blue & Gold Connection.

What if I am not asked for my Social Security Number? If you are not asked for your Social Security Number, you will be asked to provide the first two letters of your last name.

If you have what you need, let’s join JNET today!

How to join JNET in 3 steps

Step 1:
Claim your TAMUK username

You will need to claim your unique TAMUK username by going to http://password.tamuk.edu.

Next to Student/Faculty/Staff ID enter your Student ID number (i.e., K00123456) that was included in your message from the Office of Admission. (If you do not know your Student ID number, log onto your Blue & Gold Connection to retrieve it using your Social Security Number.)

You will use your birth date using six digits with no dashes (mmddyy). For example, if your birth date is December 15, 2001, you will use 121501.  Then, when you are ready, choose the “Next” button to continue.

In the next screen, you will verify your identity using the last four digits of your Social Security Number or the first two letters of your last name.

You will see your TAMUK username and TAMUK email address, please write down your TAMUK username as you will continue to use this to log in.

Step 2
: Create your password

In this step, you will be required to change your password by choosing “Create/Reset Password” found under “Options.”

To create your password, read the requirements carefully as you will be expected to provide a unique password that follows specific criteria, including using upper and lower case letters, numbers, special characters, and length. Once you have the green light, you can choose “Create/Change Password.”

For additional instructions, you may use the How to Create/Change Your Password PDF.

Step 3: Join JNET!

Using your TAMUK username and your password you may now access the university community portal on JNET and your university email account.

NOTE: If you are locked out at any time, please allow the system 30 minutes and then try again using the correct Student ID number, birth date, and last four digits of your SSN or the first two letters of your last name that you provided to the university in your application.
