Prospective Students

The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (OISSS) begins to work with international students once they are admitted to TAMUK.  OISSS has no role in the admissions process, and we only receive student information after acceptance by the University.

All undergraduate admission decisions are made by the Office of Admission.  Questions about your application, test scores and admission requirements should be directed to Office of Admissions. Unfortunately, OISSS will not be able to answer questions about your application or admission decisions.  If you are admitted to TAMUK, a copy of your file is forwarded to OISSS by the Office of Admission.  If you have provided complete financial certification, we will issue your Form I-20/DS-2019 at that time.  If you have not provided complete financial certification, OISSS will contact you via the e-mail address listed on your application to request these documents.  When submitting your financial certification to OISSS, please make sure that each page is clearly labeled with your first and last name(s).

All graduate admissions decisions are made by the College of Graduate Studies upon recommendation of your acceptance by your academic department.  Admissions related questions should be directed to College of Graduate Studies.  Questions about major-specific admissions requirements can also be directed to the department you are applying to.  Unfortunately, OISSS will not be able to answer questions about your application.  If you are admitted to TAMUK, OISSS will receive notification from College of Graduate Studies.  If you have provided complete financial certification, we will issue your Form I-20/DS-2019 at that time.  If you have not provided complete financial certification, OISSS will contact you via the e-mail address listed on your application to request these documents.  When submitting your financial certification to OISSS, please make sure that each page is clearly labeled with your first and last names.
