Honors Housing

Mesquite Village West is the Honors resident hall and home of the Honors College.  The 98,000 square foot building has 300 beds set in suite-style apartment living. The building is located on Avenue B north of the University Village resident hall and the Javelina Dining facility.

Students in the Honors College have priority room assignment in Mesquite Village West, however, it is not required to live in MVW.  If you choose to live in another residence hall or off-campus after your freshman year, the ID cards for Honors students will be coded so they can have access to the building's study rooms and facilities.

The Honors resident hall is a living learning community.  Students living in the Honors Living Learning Community are active participants in the Honors College, or are students who want to focus on their educational pursuits. Academic, cultural, and social events provide a well-rounded experience for the residents of this community, through which students have the opportunity to interact with other Honors students, faculty and staff from The Honors College. These residents not only live and socialize together; they study together and have each other to lean on throughout their college career.

Opportunities:

  • Honors Study Sessions
  • Free Tutoring Services
  • Academic-based programming
  • Interaction with Faculty/Staff from Honors College
