Minutes from the Graduate Council Meeting of October 18, 2005

Faculty Present: Drs. Ballard, Bradley, Downs, Faruqi, Fields, Fedynich (substituting for Hewitt), Clapp (substituting for Martinez), Massa, Nelson, Stanford (substituting for Oh), Olivares, Stallone, Torres, Wagman

Faculty Absent: Drs. Estrada, Shorter

Graduate Student Representatives Present: Mr./Ms. Anderson, Jaimes, Gutierrez, Nava, Hernandez

Graduate Student Representative Absent: Mr. Mohanlal

I. Dr. Olivares called the Council meeting to order at 2:45 p.m. in the Blue Room

of Sam Fore Hall.

II. Standing Committee Reports

A. No report by the Executive Committee

B. Dr. Bradley, speaking for the Curriculum Committee, presented seventeen proposals, which were approved as a group. Proposals included one from IMEN, one from MATH, seven from CHEM, two from SOCI, two from EDRG, and four from PHYS.

C. No report by the Membership Committee

D. No report by the Program Review Committee

III. No report from the dean.

IV. Student representatives brought up no business to discuss.

V. There was no old business.

VI. There was no new business.

VII. A motion was made to adjourn and seconded at 2:55 p.m. The Council’s next

meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15.
