·        Master’s degree from an accredited university.

·        Positive recommendation from graduate professors and from administrators under whom the individual has worked or studied.

·        Minimum of 3.25 GPA in graduate courses.

·        Record of competence and effectiveness in professional work, as evidence by positive reviews by present and/or former supervisors.

·        Performance at the 84th percentile on the MLA language exam for the non-English language, or demonstrated potential for reaching this level of performance within three years.

·        Score of at least 550 on the TOEFL.

            We average about 5 doctoral assistantships: One year appointment scholarship ($1,350 month stipend+fringe+medical+out-of-state tuition waiver)

 

Full time students who work full time apply and receive student loans through the Financial Aid office.  Students qualify for a maximum of $8,500 (subsidized loan) or $4,000 (unsubsidized loan) which is dependent on their annual income.

           

International students are the only full-time students which are not eligible for financial aid.
