About the Executive Director for University Facilities

David Standish, Interim Executive Director for Support Services
Mr. Standish

David Standish has been director of the physical plant since 2002 and has been with at the university since 1996. He previously served as the physical plant assistant director and custodial services superintendent. Before working in the Division of Finance and Administration, he worked in Student Affairs as the student union and residence life custodian supervisor and superintendent. Prior to coming to Kingsville, Standish served in the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer for over 21 years. His responsibilities included serving as an aviation maintenance officer, helicopter pilot, instructor pilot, maintenance test pilot, aviation logistics instructor, army airfield operations officer, and active duty Reserve/Guard unit trainer. Standish holds a master's degree in aeronautical science and a bachelor's degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is a current member and past president of the Kingsville Noon Lions Club, member of the Texas Association of Physical Plant Administrators, the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers, and the Military Officers Association of America.
