Hardware & Software Standards

In accordance with TAMUK IT Standard Administrative Procedure 29.01.99.K1.270, IT Hardware and Software Standards, information resource purchases must adhere to university standards established by ITS. Any purchases deviating from set standards must be justified and supply a source of support for the non-standard technology.

IT equipment purchased by the university will be chosen from the iTech approved list. If set standards do not meet the functional requirements of the department, please make sure to schedule an ITS consultation to assess departmental needs. ITS provides consultation to analyze project scope and identify an appropriate solution that adheres to the supported campus standards.

Hardware Standards

Contact GTS or SHI for desktop, laptop, docking station and monitors.  You may exceed the University Standards on hardware but cannot be under the specifications that have been set.
