Richard L. Anderson, CPA, has been named the Interim Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

Anderson makes his way to Javelina Nation having served most recently as the Interim Chief Financial Officer at Sierra Nevada College.  His responsibilities included managing the financial operations of the college including financial reporting and audits, investments, payroll and human resources, and facilities and food service operations.  Prior to his time at Sierra Nevada College, Anderson served as Vice President for Fiscal Affairs and Chief Financial Officer at Southwestern University.  His duties included broad chief business officer responsibilities and also included risk management and legal services coordination, information technology services, and serving as emergency management team co-chair.  Anderson also served as a representative on several national higher education consortiums.

Anderson received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.  Anderson attended the Western Association of Colleges and Universities (WACUBO) Executive Leadership and Management Institute at Stanford University, the Institute for Educational Management (IEM) at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, and the Level I and Level II Commonfund Endowment Institute at the Yale School of Management.
