Presidential Series Scholarship

 

The Presidential Series Scholarship Program features a tiered scholarship award.


Presidential Gold

     High School Criteria*: Top 10% & 1270 SAT or 29 ACT
     Total:   $16,000 value ($2,000 plus $2,000 housing/yr)** 
     Renewal Criteria:  3.0 GPA  and pass 15 hours each semester

Presidential Silver     

     High School Criteria*: Top 15% & 1130 SAT or 25 ACT       
     Total:    $10,000 value ($1,500 plus $1,000 housing/yr)**      
     Renewal Criteria:  3.0 GPA  and pass 15 hours each semester

Presidential Blue     

     High School Criteria*: Top 25% & 970 SAT or 21 ACT      
     Total:    $4,000 value ($1,000/yr)     
     Renewal Criteria:  3.0 GPA and pass 15 hours each semester
 

* SAT/ACT scores do not include writing portion.
** for on-campus housing only (not eligible for off-campus housing) .

Scholarship Consideration

To be considered for a Presidential Series Scholarship, an incoming freshman must submit the Javelina Online Application with the required documents, and be accepted for admission to Texas A&M University-Kingsville by December 1st and meet the eligibility criteria.  The Scholarships will be awarded based on committee selection.  This Scholarship is available only to Texas Residents.  Student receiving financial aid will have award packages reviewed as needed. To be considered for departmental scholarships, the Javelina Online application must be submitted by February 15. The Online Application can be found at

Interested students who receive the Presidential Series Scholarship and meet the eligibility requirements for the Honors Program will be accepted automatically into the program.  For an application and more information about the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Honors Program, please visit the website at www.tamuk.edu/honors or call 361-593-4410.

Renewal

Students are eligible for automatic renewal based on the renewal criteria.  However, students will be allowed to roll into a lower category if they miss the renewal criteria of their initial category, but meet the criteria for the lower category.
