Parent PLUS Loans
The Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan is a loan borrowed by a parent on behalf of a child to help pay for tuition and school related expenses. A PLUS loan allows a parent to borrow the total cost of undergraduate education including tuition, room and board, and any other eligible school expenses, after the university has applied any aid the child is receiving in their name.
Interest rates on Direct Parent PLUS loans are much cheaper than most credit cards, and the rates for loans can be found at: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types/loans/interest-rates
