Sexual Harassment
It is improper and against the policies of Texas A&M University-Kingsville for any employee, male or female, to sexually harass another employee by:
- Making unwelcome sexual advances or requests for conduct of a sexual nature a condition of the employees continued employment.
- Making submission or rejection of such conduct the basis for employment decisions affecting the employee.
- Creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment by engaging in unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature.
Any employee who believes he or she has been the subject of sexual harassment should report the alleged act immediately to either the Affirmative Action Officer, the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, the Vice President of Finance and Administration, a College Dean or supervisor, the Director of the Women’s Center, or the Director of the Center for Life Services and Wellness.
An investigation of all complaints will be undertaken immediately. Investigation of complaints, shall immediately be forward to the Affirmative Action Officer.
Any person or agent of Texas A&M University-Kingsville, who, after appropriate investigation, is found by Texas A&M University-Kingsville to have sexually harassed another employee will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, including termination. The complainant will be informed of the completion of the investigation.
Texas A&M University-Kingsville encourages any employee who believes he or she has been subjected to unlawful sexual harassment to report the matter to appropriate management. Retaliation or reprisal by any employee based upon an employee’s report of sexual harassment to management will not be tolerated. All complaints of sexual harassment will be treated confidentially and disclosed only on a need-to-know basis for investigative or other legitimate purpose. (TAMUK Rule 34.01.01)
