Military Leave

Employees of Texas A&M University-Kingsville called to mandatory or voluntary military reserve training will be allowed time off up to a maximum of two weeks per calendar year. After exhausting the two weeks military leave, the employee may use accrued vacation leave to the extent available or be placed in a leave with-out-pay status for the remainder of the active duty period. The employee will not be required to use vacation time for this period.

In the event of an emergency military call-up that does not exceed thirty calendar days in duration (or the last day full wages are paid), National Guard emergency leave will be paid.

A full time employee who volunteers for or is called to active duty by any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States is granted military leave and re-employment rights in accordance with applicable law. Such leaves are granted at no pay. (SAGO Policy 31.03.04)
