Disciplinary Action

We hope it will not be necessary to discipline or discharge employees. When there are performance issues or violations of Texas A&M University-Kingsville rules and guidelines, it may become necessary to formally respond with disciplinary action. This action may call for one or more of three actions:

  1. Documented verbal warning
  2. Written warning
  3. Termination of employment

The type of action will depend on the severity of the problem, the number of occurrences and other circumstances as determined by Texas A&M University-Kingsville. There may be circumstances, as determined by Texas A&M University-Kingsville, when one or more steps are bypassed.

Texas A&M University-Kingsville recognizes there are certain types of employee problems serious enough for immediate termination of employment without any prior discipline.
