About the Handbook
This handbook is designed to acquaint you with Texas A&M University-Kingsville and provide you with information about working here. The handbook is not all-inclusive, but is intended to provide you with a summary of some of Texas A&M University-Kingsville guidelines. This edition replaces all previously issued editions.
Texas A&M University-Kingsville staffs receive vacation leave, sick leave, paid holidays and are eligible for emergency leave and insurance benefits. Depending on their positions, some are eligible for participation in the Optional Retirement Program ORP). All other eligible staffs participate in the Teacher Retirement System (TRS). For specific information on any of these benefits, contact your supervisor or the Personnel Department.
The language used in this handbook is not intended to constitute a contract of employment, either expressed or implied. Staffs have the right to end their work relationship with Texas A&M University-Kingsville, with or without advance notice or cause. Texas A&M University-Kingsville has the same right.
No staff handbook can anticipate every circumstance or question. After reading the material, if you have questions, please talk with your immediate supervisor or the Human Resources Director. Also, the need may arise to change the guidelines described in the handbook. Texas A&M University-Kingsville therefore reserves the right to interpret them or change them without prior notice.
