The Opera Workshop and Chamber Orchestra at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will present two comic one-act operas on love and the law entitled Til Death Do Us Part Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22, in Jones Auditorium. Saturday’s show will begin at 7:30 p.m. while Sunday’s matinee begins at 3 p.m. Admission is $5.

The event features Giacomo Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial by Jury produced and directed by Dr. Melinda Brou and conducted by Dr. Veronica S. Lopez, both assistant professors in the music department.

“The Gianni Schicchi is originally in Italian, but we are doing it in English with a Texas spin. It is based in Austin in the 1980s. Trial by Jury is set in the 1950s,” Brou said.

Each production will run approximately two hours. Tickets will be available in the auditorium lobby one hour before each show. Texas A&M-Kingsville students are admitted free with a valid identification card.
