Chinese dancers, games are highlight of Mid-Autumn Festival at Texas A&M-Kingsville

The Asian Pacific Heritage Committee at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will host a traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, beginning at 6 p. m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in and around The Little Theatre located on campus adjacent to the Ben Bailey Art Gallery.

Starting at 6 p.m. there will be games in the theatre lobby and on the outside porch. Games include traditional Chinese checkers, a chopstick game and Chinese riddles. Students from China will be on hand to assist visitors in learning to write their name in Chinese.

Chinese food and drinks will be on the menu in the theatre lobby. Admission is free.

Beginning at 7:30 p.m. in The Little Theatre, dancers from the Love of China School of Chinese Dance in Austin will perform traditional dances in vibrantly colorful costumes. They will perform dances including Drifting Clouds, the Iron Fan, Chinese Yoyo, MuLan and the Ribbon Dance.
