Domestic Graduate Admissions


  1. Complete and submit the online application at GoApplyTexas.org prior to the upcoming semester deadline. 

    • Spring 2023 applications must be submitted by January 16, 2023
    • Summer 2023 applications must be submitted by May 1, 2023
    • Fall 2023 applications must be submitted by August 1, 2023
  2. $50 nonrefundable application fee.

  3. Official transcript and records.

    • You are required to submit official transcripts from each post-secondary university or college you attended. An official statement of the award of the degree or diploma is required for each degree completed. College work from one institution posted on the transcript of another institution will not be accepted.

    • Degrees must be earned from schools that are accredited by one of the seven regional accrediting bodies recognized by the United States Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

    • Many universities in the United States use the electronic official transcript format. Texas A&M-Kingsville will accept transcripts sent electronically through SPEEDE, eSCRIP-SAFE, Parchment, or National Student Clearinghouse.

    • You do not need to submit a transcript from Texas A&M-Kingsville if you are currently attending the university or have previously graduated from Texas A&M-Kingsville. 

  4. If you have test scores or plan to submit them, please do so. All scores must be sent directly from the testing facilities. We do not accept photos or copies of your test scores.

    • Students applying for a graduate program in business must submit either a Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT; Code#6822) score or a Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score.

    • Students applying for other graduate programs must submit the Graduate Record Exam (GRE; Code#6822).

    • Note: Select the closest program if needed or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT; for education majors only, Code#2242). 

  5. Three (3) letters of recommendation are required for students majoring in any doctoral program. Some graduate programs also require your vitae and statement of purpose, please refer to your admission checklist to see what is required for your program. Please contact your graduate coordinator in the department of interest for more information.

  6. Students who have taken educational instruction in another language (not the English language) and/or whose first or native language is not English:

    • Proof of English Proficiency - Texas A&M-Kingsville requires all applicants, regardless of immigration status, whose educational instruction has not been in the English language and/or whose first or native language is not English, to demonstrate proficiency in English. Texas A&M-Kingsville requires a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based). Students who have completed their entire formal education at the secondary or postsecondary level in the following countries are exempt from the TOEFL requirement: American Samoa, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Federated States of Micronesia, Grenada, Guam, Guyana, Jamaica, Liberia, New Zealand, United Kingdom (all), Trinidad-Tobago and the Virgin Islands. Please note applicants from Puerto Rico, where Spanish is the primary language are required to submit a TOEFL or equivalent.

Admission requirements for any graduate program may vary based on the particular program. For more information on the admission/entrance requirements for specific programs please refer to the graduate student catalog or contact the graduate coordinator of the department for which you are applying. All students should become familiar with the information provided in the graduate catalog.

If you are not able to enroll for the semester you applied for, you are granted one free change of term. Please note: You must re-apply through ApplyTexas.org if you have already used your free deferment.

If you need to send documents to Texas A&M-Kingsville, we have options available to you. Please include your applicant ID on ALL documents.

  • You may upload your documents using our online portal.
  • You may email your documents to graduateadmissions@tamuk.edu.
  • You may mail your documents to Graduate Admission, 700 University Blvd., MSC 128, Kingsville, Texas, 78363.
  • At this time, the university is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may drop your documents for your admission, registrar, Military & Veteran Resource Center, or financial aid file at the Javelina Enrollment Services Center (JESC), first floor in the Memorial Student Union Building, 1050 W. Santa Gertrudis Ave., Kingsville.

Once you submit your application, you may check the status of your application by logging into your Blue & Gold Connection using your applicant ID and your password, which is your birth date. You will use your birth date using six digits with no dashes (mmddyy). For example, if your birth date is December 15, 2001, you will use 121501.
