King Ranch: The Living Legend of South Texas Since 1853

Recapture the essence of the “Wild, Wild West” at the historic King Ranch in South Texas! Join local historians as they present an engaging look at how a New York steamboat captain came to set ranching standards that continue to this day. Expert-led field studies at King Ranch and at a working cattle ranch offer an in-depth view of the sights and sounds of ranching operations. Learn about the legacy of the King family in South Texas as you explore downtown Kingsville and pay a visit to the Henrietta King Memorial Museum.

• Visit the Kenedy Ranch Museum in Sarita to learn about the legacy of Miflin Kenedy — another steamboat captain turned successful rancher.
