Doctoral Work: Ph.D. in Chemistry, University of New Mexico, 1976.

Past Research: Photochemical syntheses of 2-stilbazotes (Ph.D. work), synthesis of a novel steroid and indinopyrene (post-doctorate), synthesis of fetene dimethyl dithioacetal-a formylmethyl synthon, a full circle synthesis of p-methylthiobenzaldehyde.

Current Research: A full circle synthesis of thianaphthene. A total synthesis of Palescensin G--a marine metabolite.

Hobbies: Gem and mineral collecting. Lapidary work. Silversmithing, woodworking, and metal working. Designing and building "GIZMOS".

What Influenced you to study Chemistry: A series of excellent professors at the University of Florida kindled my interest in chemistry. I absolutely fell in love.
