Nitinchandra graduated from NIRMA INSTITUTE of TECHNOLOGY in Ahhedabad, India with a B.E. in Chemical Engineering.  He is working with Dr. Apu's research group at TAMUK on Environmental friendly organic synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates and bulk actives.  His thesis includes cleavage of Aromatic Esters with solvent-free neutral conditions.

Victor will finish his MS degree May 2005. He will pursue his Ph.D. at University North Texas - Medical Center

Rick Sanchez

Rick Sanchez received his BS from Texas A&M University and will finish his MS May/05. He has already accepted an offer from Texas A&M for a fellowship and he will join the Ph.D. program Fall/05

Kathy Kirmse

Kathy has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas - Austin. She is currently working on her MS in chemistry.

Thomas Ramirez

Thomas received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from Texas A&M University - Kingsville and is currently continuing his education with hopes of eventually obtaining his Ph.D. With his Ph.D. Thomas' goal is to obtain a teaching position. Outside of the lab, Thomas enjoys baseball, racquetball, bowling . . . (all sports), as well as food and politics.

Erik Plata

Erik recently obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University - Kingsville and is continuing his education by working on his Masters of Science (MS) in Chemistry. After completing his MS, Erik will work on obtaining his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. Aside from working on his masters, Erik enjoys bird watching, learning about the native flora of South Texas, cooking, and snorkeling.

Fernando Pedraza

Fernando obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University - Kingsville and is currently working his way to his main goals of having a Ph.D. in Chemistry as well as working in the Pharmaceutical Industry and then teaching at a university. Outside of the lab Fernando enjoys racquetball, coin collecting, and a bit of reading.

Alejandro Morales

Alejandro obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry and is currently working on his M. S. in Chemistry. After finishing his M. S. Alejandro would like to work in an industry doing research and even possibly obtain his Ph.D. Outside of the classroom Alejandro loves sports and is said to be especially good in any sport using a racquet.

Ceasar Aaron Alamaraz

Ceasar was born and raised in Alice, Texas and is a graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas. He was the vice president of the science club and also worked one year for the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station in Port Aransas, Texas as a lab technician. His long term goals are to obtain his Ph.D. from the University of Texas - Austin and work a research scientist.

Savitha Muramulla

Savitha received her Bachelor's in Chemistry and also worked on her Masters in organic chemistry at Osmania University. Aside from school, Savitha also worked in Dr. Reddy's Laboratories in the R&D Department which is the stop industry in India.

Jose Mendoza

Earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Did research as a undergraduate and is working on his Masters in Chemistry in Dr. Apu's group

Victoriano Taméz Jr.

Victor received his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from the University of Texas-Pan American. Victor is currently pursuing his Masters of Science in Organic Chemistry. He served in the ARMY for eight years as a Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Specialist. Victor is currently working in Dr. Apu's research group .

Sandra Longoria

Sandra received her Bachelors of Arts in Chemistry from the University at Brownsville, and is currently working closely with Dr. Apu on her Masters in Organic Chemistry. She worked for twelve months as a Food Chemist at Food Safety Net Services, Ltd. in San Antonio, Texas
