Description

Chlorine is only found in nature in a combined state usually with sodium in the form of salt (NaCl).  Chlorine is also used to produce drinking water, petroleum products, disinfectants and other products.  Chlorine is a respiratory irritant, which when inhaled it burns the membranes in the lungs causing a burning sensation.
