Texas A&M-Kingsville Athletics Director Jill Willson announced that Scott Hyland has been hired as women's basketball coach. Hyland has been the head coach at Paris Junior College the past five seasons.
"We are excited that we are able to hire someone with Scott's experience and ability to turn a program around," says Willson. "He has been a successful head coach and has great experience and recruiting ties in the state of Texas. We are getting both an excellent coach and someone who will be actively involved in the Kingsville community."

Hyland was the winningest coach in the history of Paris Junior College women's basketball, posting an 80-72 record in five years including a 20-16 record in conference play the last two-seasons, the best two-year run in school history.  "My family and I are very excited about the opportunity," says Hyland. "The resources are here and Kingsville is a very supportive community. They want a winner and that's me. I want to win, I want a program we can be proud of both on and off the court and I see the
ability to have those things at Kingsville."
