The
Javelinas won three out of four on the road this weekend at Eastern New
Mexico and then got fellow LSC South Division rival Angelo State to sweep
Tarleton State Sunday, securing the final spot in the Lone Star Conference
Tournament for Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Earlier Sunday afternoon, Southeastern Oklahoma won 16-4 at Northeastern
State to clinch one of the two at-large bids to the tournament and all
Tarleton State had to do was split at home against Angelo State.
But the Rams, the top hitting team in the LSC, outscored the Texans 10-7
in the opener and 14-3 in the nightcap to eliminate Tarleton State and
punch the Javelinas' ticket to the tournament.
The Javelinas are 27-27 and the number six seed and will take on #1 seed
Abilene Christian in Abilene Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
