The Business Writing Fundamentals Program is a required non-credit program that prepares students to successfully complete business writing projects. This program should be completed prior to registering for second semester courses after admission to the College of Business Administration.
The content of the Business Writing Fundamentals Program is a web-based Flash application that allows students to learn by interacting with the material. Through synchronizing audio with the tutorial text and making it dynamic, the program supports multiple student learning styles.
The program consists of 10 modules. Each module has a pre-test, an interactive tutorial, and a post-test. Students take a pre-test to assess their level of competency in basic grammar and sentence mechanics, punctuation, number and word usage, and document format. Those passing a pre-test with a score of 80 percent, or higher, bypass the interactive tutorial and post-test for that program module. Students who do not achieve at least 80 percent on a pre-test must complete the corresponding business writing tutorial and earn a score of 80 percent, or higher, on the post-test.
There is a $20 fee for CBA students for this class.
