All students enrolling in select College of Business Administration courses must have in-class access to a laptop computer with the following minimum capabilities:
Processor: Dual Core 2.5GHz or faster processor
Operating System Windows 7*
Software: Microsoft Office University 2010 (at a discounted rate)**, Up-to-date virus protection
Memory: 3 GB RAM
Hard drive with 160 GB
Multi-media drive: CD/DVD burner
Webcam with integrated microphone
Network interface: 10/100/1000 Gigabyte Ethernet
Wireless capability: 802.11n compatible
Battery: extended life battery***
*If you already have a computer with Windows Vista, this also will meet the requirement.
**Enrolled students can purchase software with discounted rates at http://www.dell.com/tamuk
***You should have two batteries, or one battery with at least 6 hours of capacity since not all classrooms have electrical plug-ins.

You can access team members, course information, library resources, or the Internet from your home, classroom, dorm, or favorite corner café. You can even use it to take online courses when you’re completing an internship or studying abroad.
