Valerie Bartelt, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor
Department of Information Systems

Valerie Bartelt is currently an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Texas A&M-Kingsville. She received a Ph.D. and MS from the Operations and Decision Technologies Department at Indiana University - Bloomington Kelley School of Business. Valerie also holds a Masters in Immersive Mediated Environments at Indiana University. She has worked as a Media Developer Consultant for Option Six, developing e-learning interactive media components for companies including Microsoft, Eli Lilly, Roche, and Hewlett-Packard using programs including Flash, Photoshop, and Sound Edit with programming languages including ActionScript, XML, and HTML. Other relevant work experience includes Students Information System Specialist with Indiana University Admissions, IT Training Coordinator Assistant at Baxter Pharmaceutical, and Graphic Design Assistant at WTIU/WFIU, Bloomington’s local PBS station. Valerie’s research interests primarily involve information collaboration technologies in virtual teams and work-life balance issues.


John Cicala, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor
Department of Management & Marketing

John Cicala earned his Ph.D. along with his MBA and BA at the University of Memphis. His research interests are in sales, technology, and consumer
behavior.  Prior to academia, he worked in hospitality sales, sports marketing, banking, and retail. He has been married for 16 years to Karen, an attorney who specialized in bankruptcy, insurance, and criminal law practice while in Memphis.  They currently live in Corpus Christi and have a three year old cat named Raven.

Kelly Fisher

Kelly Fisher, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor
Department of Management & Marketing

Academe is Dr. Fisher's second career; her first was in the US Navy. She was mainly based off the east coast, but has lived and traveled overseas as an expatriate for over 9 years. She studied at Monash University in Australia and her research focus is (broadly) on leadership and culture in a life-threatening context. "I’m delighted to be at TAMUK and teaching a new (to me) student cohort and look forward to an exciting, challenging year."


Harmeet Singh

Department of Information Systems

Harmeet Singh is currently a lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Harmeet Singh is an MBA in Finance and Economics from Texas A&M University with experience in scholarly research. He has previously served as a Finance and Accounting Manager in a corporation operating in South Texas Oil field industry. His business interests stem from running a small business enterprise for more than eight years. As a lecturer, he strives to enhance the students’ understanding of business concepts and its practicality.
