Tentative Band Schedule is up!

Band camp and Fall band information

Dorm Check-In

The dorms will be available to the Band Students ONLY for check-in on Sunday, August 10 between 10 a.m. and 12 noon and Tuesday, August 12 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.. All those wishing to check in early should notify the band department by email (brian.shelton@tamuk.edu) or phone (593-2160) in which dorm you will reside. Housing must have your name in order for you to check in early, and no exceptions can be made. You will check in at your dorm. We hope to place everyone in their permanent rooms at the first check-in, but it is possible that some students will have to move into temporary housing. Anyone in that situation will be notified when they may move into their permanent residence.

Registration

You should have registered with the band by now, but in case you have not, register here. Click the link at the top of the page to register with the band. Fill out this form completely to ensure yourself a spot in the halftime show. You can also indicate early dorm check-in on the form. It is important that everyone fill out the form prior to camp.

Instrument Check-Out

The band provides instruments for all baritone saxophones, mellophones, baritones, tubas, and percussion. All colorguard equipment will be provided by the band department. 1. Black marching shoes, black socks & gloves
    • There is no specific shoe that is required; however, tennis shoes are not allowed.
    • Common brands are Drillmasters, Dinkles, and Speedsters, and may be purchased through online music stores.
    • Shoes may also be purchased locally at Goetsch Music. Call them at (361)592-5464 for price and availability.
    • Do not wait until the last minute to order shoes!
  2. A 1-inch three-ring binder (with name written on the front in permanent marker)
  3. 60-inch, thick shoe string
  4. 40 pages of clear plastic sheet protectors (in your binder)
  5. Instrument lyre
  6. Money for breakfast and lunch each day of camp
  7. $10.00 uniform cleaning fee.
    • Note: Guard and Twirling members may be responsible for extra uniform costs, based on budgetary restrictions. All uniforms and shoes will be ordered at the beginning of the season, at the discretion of the instructors.

Other Things to Bring to Camp:

  1. Sunblock
  2. Hat and sunglasses
  3. Comfortable shoes – NO FLIP FLOPS or SANDALS ON THE FIELD!!!
  4. Water jug
  5. Sunglasses
